TeachConnect collects and processes personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act and related regulations. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

We collect information you provide — such as name, phone number, email, location, teaching credentials, school information, lesson preferences, and bank details for payouts. We also collect information needed to operate funded contracts and approvals.

For some teachers, tutors, and schools, an initial profile may be built from publicly available information before they register. You can claim, edit, or remove such a profile at any time — see the Profile Claim and Removal Policy.

We use personal data to match teachers and tutors with schools and parents, to operate funded contracts and approvals, to process payouts, to support verification where available, to keep the platform safe, and to comply with the law.

We share information only as needed: with the other party to a contract or lesson, with our payment partner to fund contracts and release payouts, with verification providers where checks are run, and where required by law. We do not sell personal data.

We keep personal data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal, accounting, and dispute-resolution needs. When you remove a profile or close an account, we delete or anonymise personal data that we are not required to keep.

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and you can request removal of a profile at any time. Contact support@teachconnect.ng to exercise these rights.

We protect data in transit and at rest and restrict access by role. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe and to respond quickly to any issue.
