Profile Claim and Removal Policy

How unclaimed TeachConnect profiles are built from public information, and how anyone can claim, edit, or request removal of their profile at any time.

01Unclaimed profiles

To help teachers, tutors, and schools be discovered, TeachConnect sometimes creates an initial profile from publicly available information — for example, public listings, public directories, and other openly available sources. These are unclaimed profiles.

An unclaimed profile is a starting point. It exists so that the person or school it describes can be found and can take control of how they are represented.

02Claiming your profile

You can claim a profile that describes you or your school. Once claimed, you can verify it, edit the details, add information, and decide how you appear on TeachConnect.

03Editing and correcting

Claimants can edit their profile at any time to correct inaccurate information or update their details. Keeping a claimed profile accurate is the best way to control how you are presented.

04Removing your profile

You can request removal of your profile at any time using the “Remove my profile” option or by contacting support. We act on verified removal requests promptly and remove or anonymise the profile, keeping only what we are legally required to retain.

You do not have to claim a profile before asking for it to be removed. Removal is available whether or not the profile has been claimed.

05Accuracy and good faith

We build profiles from public information in good faith and respond quickly to corrections and removals. If you believe a profile contains an error or should not exist, contact support@teachconnect.ng and we will address it.
