01Who these terms cover

These terms apply to student teachers, trainees, and recent graduates who use TeachConnect to be matched with schools for supervised or entry-level teaching roles.

02Matching subject to school approval

TeachConnect is a connection and payment-coordination platform. We help schools, parents, teachers, and tutors find each other and arrange funded work, but we do not employ teachers or tutors and we are not a party to the working relationship between them.

TeachConnect does not guarantee that any teacher or tutor will be hired, selected, or kept, and does not guarantee any specific amount of work, placements, or income. Matching is always subject to approval by the school or parent.

As a student teacher, your placement is always subject to the school’s approval and supervision. TeachConnect does not guarantee a placement, hours, or income. We help schools find suitable student teachers and protect your payout once a contract is funded.

03Supervision and responsibility

The school remains responsible for supervising your work and for the final classroom decision. You should follow the school’s safeguarding rules and the guidance of your supervising staff at all times.

04How you get paid

When a school funds your contract, the agreed payout is protected before you start. As the school approves your work — approved periods, lessons, or milestones — the matching payout is released to you.

You receive the full agreed payout for approved work. TeachConnect’s service fee is paid by the school on top of your payout and is never deducted from your earnings.

05Deductions

TeachConnect does not promise or guarantee statutory deductions or contributions such as PAYE, pension, or NHF on your behalf. Any such matters, where they apply, are between you and the school.

06Profile and Work Record

Your profile may have begun as an unclaimed listing built from publicly available information. You can claim, edit, or remove it at any time — see the Profile Claim and Removal Policy. Feedback follows the Work Record Policy, with positive and neutral labels, feedback tied to funded contracts, a right to dispute, and no damage to your public status from unresolved disputes.

07Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and work alongside the Teacher/Tutor Payout Policy, the Payment Protection Terms, the Dispute and Approval Policy, the Work Record Policy, and the Privacy Policy.
